The Icone series are masterpieces. This range of speakers stands tall like a modern architectural monument, exuding power and dynamism. Yet, beyond their commanding presence, the refined materials and meticulous craftsmanship reveal their noble and sophisticated character.
A perfect synthesis of strength and elegance, the Icone series is more than just a collection of high-end loudspeakers—it is a declaration of passion for audio excellence and Italian design.
The Siena stands as one of Rosso Fiorentino’s flagship models, meticulously designed to be the ultimate reference for medium-sized rooms. The decision to adopt a sealed enclosure system was driven by this very objective: delivering an ultra-wide frequency response, a commanding yet impeccably balanced acoustic presence that always feels natural and effortlessly integrated.
The cabinet’s trapezoidal design minimizes internal standing waves, while its construction effectively suppresses vibrations and dissipates resonant energy, reducing structure-borne interference. This carefully engineered design optimizes internal damping, ensuring outstanding clarity, articulation, and a natural tonal balance.
A sleek design profile featuring a set of 5 1/2” high-performance drivers, engineered to handle demanding power levels with precision.
An unconventional acoustic load is paired with an extremely refined crossover circuit, both in terms of components used and in the seamless blending of sounds with great musicality, all while attentively catering to the amplifier’s needs. The sophisticated cabinet is constructed using various materials through the layer constraint technique, resulting in an almost resonance-free structure, with all hardware designed in-house and manufactured in Italy.
The newly-improved Elba 2 is a great all-round speaker which combines power with grace for an exciting audiophile listening experience.
The engineering challenge behind the new Elba 2 was to put in an entry level model the same enthusiasm, design expertise and innovation that Rosso Fiorentino puts in their higher-end speakers so as to give the listener the pleasure of a real high-end acoustic experience.
Rosso Fiorentino (Giovan Battista di Jacopo, Firenze 1495 – Fontainebleau 1540) was one of the most talented and unconventional Florentine artists of the early 16th century. He assimilated the innovations of Leonardo, Michelangelo and Raffaello but went on to experiment with a freer technique and more abstract forms. His paintings forcefully express the strength of the colours, the sophisticated interpretation of the details, the luminosity of the reflections and an underlying artistic rigour.
The gauntlet he threw down to those who had already interpreted all there was to interpret is something that intrigues us and inspires Rosso Fiorentino’s work daily.
Rosso Fiorentino is always on the lookout for elegance in design. This means their style is more than a set of aesthetic traits, it is a collaborative work between designers and engineers searching together for the ‘necessary beauty’ where every line and proportion is conceived to reach the desired acoustic performance as well as to visually reveal the characteristic of the loudspeaker system.
Francesco Rubenni and his collaborators are driven by an unparalleled passion for music and electroacoustics. Every new project is a challenge, a constant research looking for new ways to reach a better performance but at the same time never forgetting their final target…the emotional pleasure of listening to music.
Rosso Fiorentino is the result of a deep technical understanding of how loudspeakers work and the client’s desire for an involving and breathtaking listening experience.
The design of RF models is carried out by Francesco and his collaborators. Francesco follows every step of the creative process, from the initial ideas to the first sketches on paper, which then become technical, computerized and eventually ready for simulations and optimization of the production methods and processes.
At the prototype stage, the design becomes a physical shape and the long process of measurements, listening and fine tuning takes place. During this part of the work Francesco uses all his expertise and passion to model the sound and to improve every single technical parameter of the loudspeaker.
However, as we all know, a dream never comes true unless it is shared with others.
During the listening session all the RF team joins in, but that’s not all, at this stage the involvement of musician ‘friends’ become very important. Involving them in the tuning of the system, in making recordings, in listening back, in trying different technical solutions, enables Rosso Fiorentino to make well balanced loudspeakers capable of playing any kind of music and evoking deep emotion in the listener.
