The Standard Max Supreme contains unique combinations of metals and alloys. In the turntable’s suspension, aluminum elements of the Standard Max turntable have been replaced with brass. The separating layers at the base of the platter are now made of steel and solid brass plates. The motor housings, as in the J.Sikora Reference turntable, are made of one centimeter–thick stainless steel, providing improved internal damping. The bases of the motor housings are made of a two centimeter–thick layer of brass.
The Standard Max Supreme’s platter support base contains four separate, 15mm-thick segments: a steel spider on top, supported by a solid brass/brass/steel sandwich that accounts for a big chunk of the turntable’s colossal 216lb.
Included in the Standard MAX Supreme’s offerings is a 6-pound record weight that that is crafted from nickel-plated bronze, sectioned into 20 discrete segments; a solid brass disc drops into the weight’s core. The assembly is quite effective in resonance damping.
The armboard has been upgraded, as well. Critical rollers within the armboard have been machined in brass in the Supreme model, a change which further elevates the turntable/tonearm combination’s sonic signature.
Last—but certainly not least—the Standard Max Supreme is bundled with the Reference Linear Power Supply from J.Sikora’s Reference turntable.
